Cured Concrete and Concrete Ready for Flooring Are Different Milestones
A schedule may say a concrete repair is cured while a flooring installer still needs more information. That is not necessarily a contradiction. Developing the required concrete properties and meeting a selected floor system’s moisture requirements are different decisions. Ask which milestone each provider is discussing before fixing the installation date.
Understand the two processes
NRMCA explains curing in terms of maintaining appropriate conditions for concrete to develop its intended properties. Its slab-moisture guidance separately addresses readiness for moisture-sensitive coverings. The calendar alone does not make those questions identical. A surface that feels dry or can receive one defined use may still lack the evidence required for a particular flooring assembly.
Tie readiness to the actual system
Identify the flooring, adhesive or coating being considered and ask the installer which requirements and tests apply. Do not borrow a moisture limit from a different product or assume the same instruction applies to every repair material. Proprietary systems may have their own substrate and timing requirements. Keep the relevant current instructions with the project rather than relying on a general rule remembered from another job.
Plan the handoff around evidence
Ask who confirms completion of the concrete work and who accepts the substrate for the next system. Record the decision needed before installation, not just a hopeful start date. If the proposed covering changes, revisit its requirements. This keeps a repair release from acquiring an unreviewed flooring warranty and helps the owner understand why an apparently finished slab may still need a separate installation decision.

Use one row for each field. Mark unknown information clearly and retain the original records.

Worked example
Illustrative example: a fictional owner receives permission for a defined use of a repaired room but has not yet obtained the selected flooring’s substrate acceptance. The owner keeps the floor installation provisional. One provider’s release is not reused as proof of a different system’s readiness.
