How to Update a Concrete Repair Request When the Project Changes
A repair inquiry can change between the first photos and the proposed visit. You may add an area, discover an earlier repair or change how the property will be used. Send a concise change note so the provider can distinguish the new request from the original information instead of rebuilding the conversation from scattered messages.
State what changed and when
Use the original zone names and identify whether the change concerns scope, access, observed condition or desired timing. Keep newly supplied historical information separate from a new event. Do not rewrite the earlier description to make it appear that the added information was always known.
Ask which assumptions need review
A provider may need different information or another review before confirming a scope. Ask what the update changes and what remains preliminary. A revised inquiry does not itself amend an accepted contract; any project change needs to follow the actual agreed process.
Copyable worksheet
Use one row for each field. Mark unknown information clearly and retain the original records.
| Field | Your note |
|---|---|
| Original inquiry or reference | ____________________ |
| New information and date supplied | ____________________ |
| Affected zone | ____________________ |
| Assumption to revisit | ____________________ |
| Confirmation requested | ____________________ |
Worked example
Illustrative example: a storage area becomes a proposed office after the first inquiry. Record the use change explicitly. It may introduce project questions that were not part of the earlier repair discussion even if the visible crack has not changed.
